Leah Redcrow

Executive Director, Acimowin Opaspiw Society

Leah Redcrow is a multi generational Survivor of Blue Quills Indian Residential School and registered member of the Chief Blue Quills/ Snake Hills Band, in Saddle Lake  agency, Alberta. Presently Leah is the Investigation Director, of the Blue Quills Missing Children in Unmarked Burials Inquiry, and Chief Executive Officer, of the Acimowin Opaspiw Society.

Leah held a 20 year tenure in the Federal Public Service, opting to leave Government for University, then establishing her first business corporation. The corporation  initiated operations during the Covid 19 pandemic, being the first Indigenous PPE supply company, manufacturing Health Canada approved Natural Health Products. Leah then began the work of incorporating a Non profit with the Survivors of Blue Quills. The  corporation ensures the Survivors &  Chief  Blue Quills  Band #127 members/ descendants rights and interests are legally protected, under the Acimowin Opaspiw Society (AOS).

Leah’s expertise in business,  investigative research, finance/policy, negotiations, and stakeholder engagement has been an invaluable asset, as she lead and created historic agreements and partnerships with the Catholic Church, United Church of Canada, and the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Her innovative strategies secured access and retention of restricted church records, personnel files of IRS operators, codices and the transfer of land titles and ownership, via donation, a former United Church property near Saddle Lake.

Additionally, Leah is a leading expert and consultative advisor, on historical research for Specific Claims negotiating tables, providing evidence of the Crowns failure, in their fiduciary obligations to First Nations.
